Supporting Friends Of the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter
Every month we donate to the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter to assist with the dog training program. Below is the latest update from the shelter:
Shona Seymour from By Your Side Dog Training has been paying special focus training methods on Mulder, our Dog of the Month since December 2024. We continue to support the animal shelter by promoting Mulder on social media and throughout the Southern Highlands community, remaining committed to finding him the perfect family.
One of the training techniques used is called ACE Freework, which is particularly beneficial when outdoor training is not feasible due to weather conditions. Shona explains that this method allows Mulder to search for food hidden in various objects, helping to build his confidence, provide decompression for his excitable nature, and tap into his natural scavenging instincts. Additionally, it enables her to observe his body language and posture for any signs of discomfort. This training not only engages Mulder but also helps him relax, and he loves it. |
